People who took the test in English scored higher than people from the USA who took it in another language — 108.8 vs 101.2 (6,109 vs 666 people). That is most likely a translation or localization effect, not a claim about anyone's ability — see the method page for the full country-by-country breakdown.
United States is one of 27 countries in a same-language check of these scores against school results and income — see the method page.
100 is the average score of everyone who has taken the test since 2026-07-15, and 15 points is one standard deviation. People choose to take the test online, so this shows how the USA's test-takers scored — it is not an official national measurement.
